Combined energy installation in marine applications

Combined energy installation suitable to use in marine propulsion and other energy requirements of ship. For marine propulsion mostly used combined installations are gas turbine and steam turbine, diesel and gas turbine, diesel and steam turbine, nuclear energy installation and gas turbine, so and so.
In present time among those for marine applications gas and steam combined energy installation are effective, reliability, economy in operation of the ship. Gas turbine is the most important component in the combined gas and steam turbine power plant. The main problem with gas turbine lies in how fast their development has been progressing. They are developed primarily for use as a gas turbine alone. But because fuel costs are also rising quickly, the attempt is being made to make a corresponding improvement in gas turbine efficiency and to reduce the specific investment costs required for them. The combine-cycle plant has been able to become a competitive thermal process only as the result of the rapid development in the direction of higher gas turbine inlet temperatures. As a result, turbine inlet temperatures have risen very quickly, which has not in the past always had a positive effect in availability. At the present time, this situation has changed and gas turbines have attained a very high reliability from using in combine turbine installation.
Combined turbine installations consist of steam and gas turbine installation or different two types of gas turbine installation. From these possible to divide two classes.
1) When gas and steam turbine installations not depend on each other in thermodynamic relation (with mechanical relation between steam and gas turbine installation), in this class combined installation with augmented part have best practical value.
2) When gas and steam turbine installations are working in the single thermodynamic cycle.
Basic of working process of marine gas and steam combined installation in single pressure system: From gas turbine exhaust gas enter to heat-recovery steam generator (HRSG), from there passing through exhaust pipe exist to atmosphere. Steam which use in steam turbine get from HRSG and then discharge steam enter to main condenser, from there condensate and feed steam pump in HRSG. Some parts of steam consume in general ship’s requirements.
For example, (Paris commune) dry cargo, trailer type (Captain Smirnov)
